Characters & Book Illustrations

Narrative and character-driven illustration has always been a passion of mine - the kind of work where stories come alive on the page. This collection features projects related to book illustration and character art, ranging from concept visuals to pieces developed for editorial or publication contexts.
Whether you’re looking for expressive character work for a storybook, visual world-building for a creative project, or tailored illustrations for print and digital storytelling, this selection shows the ways my visual voice can support narrative ideas.

The Master and Margarita

This Bulgakov classic continues to inspire generations. With its dark symbolism and haunting atmosphere, it presented the perfect challenge for an illustrative project.
I explored several iterations—ranging from highly detailed renderings to digital drawings—but ultimately chose to use the original ink and charcoal sketches. Despite the intricacy of the other versions, none captured the essence of the work as powerfully as the rawness of the sketches, with all their textured "flaws".
All the illustrations depict a specific scene or character from the book, including Behemoth, Woland, and Azazello.

The Dapper Gentlemen

These is a set of two illustrations developed for a logo requested by a client who was looking for vintage "Sherlockian" drawings of a fox and a cat.
The illustrations were created using ink pens, while the shading was inspired by vintage Edwardian drawing style.
